 arbara Efre was born in
Long Island, New York. Barbara moved from new york to south florida at the age 9.
Her background includes acrobatics and performed with a 75
member dance team of which she was co-captain.
Singing has also been a large part of Barbara's life. She sang with a
madrigal group that received superior ratings at State Contest.
This group also performed at the grand opening of Disney World,
Orlando and sang in numerous performances both group and solo.
She directed a choir for ten years, taught vocal lessons and acting
lessons and is presently active singing in a choir.
Her goal in life is simply, "To make a difference"... most especially in the life of a child.
JENNIFER EFRE
Artistic Director - Director Competition Team
Dance Instructor Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Adult Tap and Jazz
 ennifer Efre was
born in 1982 and raised in South Florida. She has been dancing since age 2 1/2.
Her dance training includes, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern and Acrobatics.
Jennifer competed at the regional and national level for eleven years and won numerous gold,
high score & special awards. In 1996 she was honored with the title of Florida's
"Distinguished Performer of the Year" by LA Underground's prestigious professionals.
This entitled her to a scholarship to Las Vegas where she competed for the national
title and performed with the professionals in a show.
Jennifer also received scholarships
to New York and California from Dance Educators of America, (DEA), Dance Stars and
I Love Dance competitions, in 1996, 1997 & 1999. Jennifer performed in the Nutcracker Ballet,
with Ballet Nova of South Florida where she was cast as the Arabian soloist for
two consecutive years. She also performed as "Belle" in the ballet
version of Beauty and the Beast.
Jennifer began student teaching at the age of
13 and has continued to teach since. At "The Dance Effect", Jennifer teaches Ballet,
Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. She also teaches the Adult Tap and
Jazz classes. In addition she directs and produces TDE's annual Holiday
shows and Recitals. Jennifer, along with her sister Joann, has produced
"The Dance Effect's" award winning competition team. She is currently studying
dance at FAU under Clarence Brooks in addition to completing a
Bachelors degree in psychology.
JOANN EFRE
Assistant Director Competition Team

oann started dancing at the age of two and a half.
At the age of 10 she was dancing
with Ballet Nova of South Florida. She performed in Ballets such as Copellia,
Sleeping Beauty, Beauty & The Beast and The Nutcracker. Joann held principle
rolls for two years.
At age 11, Joann was accepted to the Joffrey Ballets summer
program in New York. Joann competed for a total of 10 years in all forms of
dance in Regional, National and World Championships.
Joann has taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Hip Hop, Creative Movement, Petite Combo and has
assisted with the Competition Team at The Dance Effect for the past four years.
She currently studies Ballet under Clarence Brooks at Florida Atlantic University.
JIMMY EFRE

immy Efre began acrobatic training
at the very young age of 3 and dance training at the age 5. He received many gold,
high score and special awards at competitions.
At age 6, Jimmy began performing in the Nutcracker with Ballet Nova of South Florida.
He was casted as the young Nutcracker the first and second year and went on for a total
of four years to perform in such rolls as a party child, soldier, Lead Polichinelle
(little tumbling clowns) and Fritz, Clara's brother.
At age 10, Jimmy received "The Baryshnikov Award" at National Competition.
Besides teaching at the studio, Jimmy presently plays semi-pro baseball with the Lighthouse Point Beacons.
